Jay Sean LIVE

When I was visiting Mumbai years ago I remember hearing "Stolen" on a compiliation cd (of random artists) in an Indian music store. I don't remember what else is on that cd, but I bought it because I had to have that song! Since then he's had so many awesome songs, and lucky for us he sang a lot of them at his performance in St. Louis. We were up close right in front, and Naitik even got to chat with him for a bit, so it turned out a lot better than expected! It's not everyday you get to see the artist w/ the #1 son
g in America in a personal setting like this!

We also got reacquainted with DJ Naveen Kumar wh
o has also gotten big! We know him before as our Aunt's co-worker at Sears Jewelery... haha. I don't know if I'm supposed to share that... but whatever, he can drop a sick beat and that's all that matters now.

Also, gotta give props to
Sami Ahmad & Get Silly Productions. They made it all happen this weekend. They threw a sick party, had great DJ's and of course brought Mr. Jay Sean down to the midwest! We look forward to working with them for future events.

All in all it was a BLAST & we hope see more of this soon! Props to Jay on his live presence and success! Here's a clip of his performance this past weekend:

For the first time ever a President of the United States truly recognizes Diwali...

Here's our take ;)

"Sal Mu Barak" = "Happy New Year" --> You can send this E-card now from: www.raahi.net !

Something else that is kind of awesome is that he quoted a Vedic Prayer that we have on one of our shirts (Asato ma Sat gamaya / Tamaso ma Jyotir gamaya / Mrutyor ma Amrutam gamaya
lead me from darkness to light / lead me from untruth to truth / lead me from death to immortality)

And you probably thought those were just random words going down the shirt... look again!

Ecard Issues

Sooo b/c of the unexpected traffic from the Ecards on our site, our host thought it would be a good idea to suspend all outgoing messages in case it was spam. This means if you sent an ecard or submitted a quote request OR submitted your email on our site on Thursday or today it probably did NOT get sent. We have contacted the host and they are working on getting it fixed so we should be up and running shortly.

Thanks for your understanding, and hey what can we say... at least we know people are using the site :)

Welcome to the NEW Raahi.net

After a few months of work we are back in action with a sweet new website thanks to the help of Mr. Darrell Stern, CEO of Stern Media LLC. We started with one main goal: make our website reflect the quality we demand in our designs, and I think we are finally there! It's so great to see our shirts and graphics displayed in a professional way.

When we started looking for the right designer, it was Darrell's enthusiasm for our project that really pulled us in. Not only that, but he offered us a great deal on the whole package. When we began we learned why Stern Media's motto is "when you're ready." From our first call to our last few emails (which are still going haha) Darrell has been on top of everything, and often ahead of schedule. We would send him things to do, and before we knew it they were done and he would be asking us for more work. His enthusiasm remained high throughout the project, and he was always willing to go learn and create new ways to do things based on our crazy demands (Exhibit A: Raahi Greetings).

We've wanted to get the greetings going for a long time, and finally Stern Media made it happen with a totally unique application made just for Raahi. It enables us to provide the South Asian community with one more way to spread our culture, and that's very important to us. We hope to create a huge library of cards for not only Indian festivals, but for all holidays.

Finally, what's great is that Stern Media will stay in touch with us for another 5 years and make sure everything is going fine with our website. If we got here in less than 3 years... aren't you excited to see what comes in the next 5 ;)

As you might have seen, we new reps & designers who have joined the Raahi team. We'll tell you more about them a little later. If you're interested in joining we have will more opportunities in the near future so keep watching. (If you really want to tell us about an amazing idea you have, you can email us at anytime.)

Once again we want to thank our friends, customers, and affiliates for all of your support over the past few years. You've really helped this company grow, and we really appreciate everything you've done for us from finding us the first few design jobs, and helping us sell shirts at shows, to connecting us to people all over the country! One of the best things about Raahi is connecting with all the motivated South Asains who are also leading their own cultural organizations and businesses. All of them together have helped Desi Culture come to the forefront of this country, and we will continue to take it higher still!

PS - Did I mention everything is on SALE right now... seriously I don't think you'll ever see prices like these again anytime soon. Enough reading, Go shop now!

Bollystar Competition – Support Vivek Agrawal!

Hello peoples, finally something to post about again... Vivek is a school friend's brother who I happen to see perform with Raagapella when they came to Champaign... AMAZING!! Check out his latest:

Vivek Agrawal is competing in the Bollystar Competition, in which the grand prize winner gets to sing in a Bollywood film! The grand prize winner is selected from 10 finalists, and the 10 finalists are determined based on voter ratings. Despite Vivek having one of the best voices in the competition, he is not in the top 10.

Voting ends SEPTEMBER 2 at 5 PM EST, and we'd really appreciate if you could take a couple of minutes to vote for his video: http://awe.sm/tAb

You can vote by entering an email address at the website (follow directions in the 'Join Now' link), or you can sign in via facebook, AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo. If after signing in/creating an account you get sent to your homepage, just search for vivekagrawal and his video (Kabhi Kabhi Aditi) will be one of the search results. It doesn't take long to create an account or sign in, but your rating him with 5 stars could make a difference and help him win!

Please e-mail Nisa Agrawal (nisa.agrawal@gmail.com) with any questions! Thank you for your support!
